What Are Solar Panels?
Solar panels are active solar devices that convert sunlight into electricity. Solar panels are usually rated for 25 years – but can last much longer.
How Do Solar Panels Work?
Simply put, a solar panel works by allowing photons, or particles of light, to knock electrons free from atoms, generating a flow of electricity.
How Do You Save With Solar?
If you live somewhere with high electricity rates like Ontario, your solar energy savings will be higher thanks to avoided electricity costs.
Spin Your Hydro Meter BACKWARDS.
Power generated through solar panels is used to offset the power you currently consume from your local hydro provider. Your new hydro bill with solar will include your solar energy production, and the reduced hydro bill amount. In most instances, variable hydro costs can be eliminated.
What Our Clients Say About Us
Go solar in 5 simple steps
You and your home are unique. Our customized process is tailored to each individual home—this means we can maximize your energy production and you control how you pay for solar, so you receive greater financial returns and get the most benefits out of your solar home.
1. Site Evaluation
During this step, we’ll evaluate your property’s roof or ground area to determine the best placement for the solar panels and check for any shading or obstructions that could affect their performance.
2. Design and Proposal
After the site evaluation, we’ll design a custom solar system based on your energy needs and the available space on your property. We’ll provide you with a proposal that outlines the equipment needed, the estimated costs, and the expected energy production.
3. Permits and Approvals:
Once you accept the proposal, we’ll obtain the necessary permits and approvals from your local government and utility company. Depending on your location, this process can take weeks to months.
4. Installation
Once the permits are approved, we’ll schedule the installation. Solar panels are mounted on your roof or ground area during this step and connected to your home’s electrical system.
5. Inspection and Activation
After the installation, we’ll schedule an inspection with the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA), the local building department and your utility company for final approvals. Once complete, your solar system is activated, and you can now enjoy clean solar energy.
